Some late night experiments in Photoshop. Next up – soaking prints in coffee, stomping on them, scratching them with my fingernails, letting them dry in the sunlight.

Kind of Unbelievable Unless You Were There
This image was taken in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains (California) a little after sunset. The sunset, as you can see, was ridiculous. One of those skies you can’t stop staring at because you can’t quite comprehend the color and quality of light that’s surrounding you. Definitely one of the more memorable evenings of the trip.
Back to Work
Back in front of the computer editing after a little holiday break. The work I need to do is a little overwhelming at the moment, from my last trip alone I have 5,293 new images to edit. I might have to take up coffee for a little while. Here is evidence of progress – another fully stitched panorama. This time from Death Valley at dusk.

Nights In The Van
Been back in Seattle and living in a house without wheels for two weeks now. But I miss these nights in the open desert with all those stars. There is work to be done though! I’m putting in lots of computer hours and I promise to post the highlights of the trip soon. Along with that, my website is being upgraded and that too will be filled with new images in the coming weeks. And the next trip is already taking shape….
Panorama Portland
So these types of shots were a big part of the trip (cause they make me money! we hope.). Portland, San Francisco, L.A., San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas were the big targets. San Francisco and Portland were the most fun to photograph, must be all those bridges over water or something. These two images were created by stitching 10 – 11 separate images together.

Home For Awhile.
Well, I made it. Made it back to this place we all call Seattle. The farthest I can see out into the future is about 3 months but I’m willing to stretch it this time and say that I will be living here - working on images and enjoying our moody weather - for the next 6 months. The big tasks are to edit the summers’ work, get the best of it out to the masses, and do a major website overhaul. And aside from those tasks I’ll be trying to pay attention to this blog and not let it go the way of so many other blogs, into the silence. So keep tune, I may not be out there beyond the horizon adventuring around, but I am right here, under your nose, looking around. There’s bound to be some interesting things there. Here.
Oh. And here is a photo you haven’t seen before.
Whose Eyes These Are.
Close focusing fun. I changed the template for the blog. I noticed that the old layout wasn’t showing all the photos I was posting. So now everything should be available.
Also, today I checked the stats for the blog and was amazed at how many views the site has gotten, 2,367 since I started in October! Very cool, thank you all for your support.

PDX.
Back on the Northwest and who would have thought it – clear skies. Spending a few nights here with Erin, Ashley, and Raisin (the giant puppy).
